A young man, struggling to look after his family in Eastern Kentucky, takes it upon himself to go after his estranged father, a conflicted ex-con and Vietnam vet, who is cutting a grisly path back to the family that he was shut out from years ago. The son charges deep into the wilds of Appalachia in the hopes of saving his father from hostile locals, only to learn the true and terrifying reason why his father wants to come home.
